Some of you saw this card during VC_Rocks (a yahoo group) this summer. While the card is original, this sweet green lady is not. I followed a link and found some fabulous punch art by someone named Jill S. which you can see Right HERE. You need to scroll to the very bottom to find this "how to", but don't miss all the creativity on the way. If you are Jill or know Jill, please let me know. I'd love to have a full name so I can really give her credit for her work.
I decided to play with "other" candy personalities so I went to the official website of this candy manufacturer (some fun stuff there) and saw the cowardly orange. I just HAD to make him from punches. I didn't get his tennis shoes right but I loved using "body language" to communicate fear.
My original intentions were to put him on a Halloween Card - orange, fearful - it was a great fit. But as I kept working he rolled his own little self onto a 12 x 12 layout for my BOM. I have started layouts with photos. I have started layouts with sketches. I have started layouts with journaling but I believe this is the first time that an embellishment was the starting point of a layout.
However it happened, I am quite pleased with the result.
Can you read the journaling? Here is what it says:
I’ll play with snakes and bugs but RATS are scary.
I’m fine in the dark but HORROR MOVIES are scary.
A rollercoaster is really fun but DRIVING OVER 80 MPH is scary.
Being ill is inconvenient but having a SICK BABY is scary.
Forgetful is embarrassing but DEMENTIA is scary.
Dieting is necessary but a Chocolate Shortage would be scary.
And then there is the whole turning into my mother thing…..
Did you see the spiral punch used for the film strip (with the 1 ¼ square punch)? I think I committed a couple of days ago to dragging that baby out for some use when I finished my ornament punch play. But I still have ONE more idea for the ornament punch – hopefully next week.
LOL ~ You are SO CREATIVE!! Thank you for providing the link to the instructions. I LOVE your guy ... and I especially LOVE the layout!! Thank you for the ongoing inspiration!! Your blog is so much fun!! :)

Another MM! Love him, I tried doing a red one but couldn't get the mouth to look right, Dang!
ReplyDeleteGreat page, too funny, but I agree with alot of your scary things, except the bugs and snakes. I
don't want any part of them, especially if the bug has eight legs. Thanks for sharing.
your punch creations are simply awesome...
ReplyDeleteThis is too stinkin' cute!! Thanks for sharing two of my favorite things scrapbooking and M&M's!
ReplyDeleteBoth your projects are super adorable. I would love the instructions to the M& M lady but the link doesn't seem to be working. Could you share the instructions or perhaps know another link? I'm enjoying scrolling through your post....very impressive and inspirational.
