Donald has loads of 'poses' to choose from, and I almost did an "angry" duck because it was funny but I thought you'd be more likely to use him if he was in a happy mood:
Here is the 'in process' photo:
One eye is small ovals and 1/2 width word window
The other is large ovals and word window
For the hat - trim your wide oval into a "bean" shape (well, that is what it looks like to me - a blue bean)
I think you can see the rest.
And here is a comparison of outlining your pieces with a black marker versus leaving them plain
I did not outline the beak because I didn't want to draw attention to the "seams" of the punch pieces.
And I didn't outline the entire way around the smaller white eye oval
(Actually I did and then rejected it and had to make another)
I don't really understand how you outline those pieces so perfectly, I am sure mine would be all over the place. Great job the markering makes it look so professional. Like those 3-D stickers people buy. I love the hat!!
ReplyDeleteThanks again for a fabulous share!

Haa haa heee heee heee
ReplyDeleteOh Carrie, it cracks me up to see the words "so perfectly" used to describe what I do. The punch art is my thing because I can't cut straight - and I can't draw a line perfectly either.
Here is the outline tip. Lay your punch piece on scrap paper, take a fat marker like a Sharpie (oh, don't tell the SU police I said that) and run the fat marker around the edge of the piece - FEELING the edge - your marker is more on the scrap paper than the art work. This gives you a thin thin line on your punch art.
If I can do it - anyone can.
Wonderful! Could there be a 'different kind' of mouse in the future? :<)
ReplyDeleteI look at the number of punch characters you have made and it is too amazing - 47 animals alone! By the way, I loved Copy Cat! :<)
Wishing you a great week!

Wow, great duck... memories from my last visit to Disneyworld. I love the hat too, you truly captured a very good image of him. Tks for sharing your creativity.
ReplyDeleteI think you do this so perfectly, and I don't care what you say there is lots of talent in it. I have tried to recreate a couple and just couldn't get the expressions right. YOu are an artist, that's all there is to it.
